1 cup of fresh chamomile flowers
2 cups of water
Honey (optional)
How to Harvest Chamomile Flowers
Pick fresh chamomile flowers from your garden, ideally in the morning when they are at their best.
Choose flowers that are fully open and healthy-looking.
Gently shake the flowers to remove any insects or dirt.
How to Make Tea
Rinse Flowers
Place the flowers in a colander and rinse them gently under cool running water.
Boil Water
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot or kettle.
Prepare Flowers
Place rinsed chamomile flowers in a teapot or directly into your teacup.
Steep Tea
Pour the boiling water over the chamomile flowers.
Let the flowers steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
Fresh chamomile tea has a delicate flavor, so taste as you steep to ensure it’s brewed to your liking.
Strain the Tea
After steeping, strain the tea to remove flowers.
If you used a teapot, pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer into your cup. If you made the tea directly in your cup, you can use a small strainer or simply remove the flowers with a spoon.
Add Sweetener (Optional)
If desired, add honey to taste.
