Let’s get crafting!

Supply List

wood shapes (find at craft stores or online)

  • 2” wood teardrop pieces x 7

  • 2” wood flat circle (back of flower)

  • 1.75” wood domed circle (center of flower)

  • 8” x 1” wood craft stick or wood paint stir stick

other supplies

  • yellow and brown paint markers or acrylic paint and brushes

  • colored pencils

  • hot glue gun and glue

  • black permanent marker (fine tip)

  • black permanent marker (medium tip) or letter stickers

Instructions

1) Color or paint seven wood petals yellow

2) Color or paint the center of the flower brown

3) Arrange the petals on top of the flat wood circle and hot glue them in place

4) Add details to the petals with colored pencils

5) Add dashed lines around the petals with a fine tip permanent pen. Add details to the flower center with colored pencils and then hot glue it to the center of the sunflower

6) Glue the flower to the top of the wood stick. Add the name SUNFLOWER either free hand with a permanent marker or with stick-on-letters.

Note: My sticker letters took up all the space on the wood stick so I glued a shorter stick to the bottom. This added length and allowed all the letters to show when it was pushed into the dirt.

7) Place your sunflower stick in the ground or in a potted plant.

Whether you're working with kids or crafting on your own, these plant markers are a fun way to personalize your garden space.

Happy crafting and happy gardening!
