Travels and Treasures at Round Top & Bellville TX

As promised in our last blog post, I am sharing a few of the treasures I found at the Round Top Antique Fair and surrounding areas in Texas. You will also find a fun restaurant recommendation!

Shopping

When we arrived in Texas I only had a few things on my “shop for” list. Those items were…a wicker chair, milk glass vases to pair with two that I already have, and a couple of red plates.

I wanted to browse with an open mind and not be laser focused on a long list.

In addition to Round Top Market our friends took us to Nothing Ordinary Antiques and Hodges Farm Antiques in Bellville.

Their displays were beautifully curated with an abundance of design and vignette inspiration. A photographer’s dream!

These plates!!! They are Majolica pottery and are gaining popularity for their bright colors and bold texture. You can read all about them in a recent article from Architectural Digest.

More pottery…

Lots of antique wood pieces too!

Purchases

This is what I brought home…four glass pieces from an old light fixture…

…some milk glass…red and blue plates, one piece of blue milk glass, two silverware holders…

…four old books, a few rusty pieces, an old spice jar, and green and blue glassware to add to my depression glass collection.

And last but not least…one of my favorite purchases…several wire clouces that I’m using in the garden!

Lunch Break

After a morning of shopping we went to The Kenney Store for lunch!

We ate pork cracklins and fried pickles….Oh my gosh…they were delicious! If you are in Texas…I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

A big thank you to our friends Joyce and Allan who introduced us to the amazing food and hospitality of Texas in such a fun way!

Thrifted Treasures

A new blog series from Made on 23rd!

I will be posting a new series “Thrifted Treasures” during the next few months. I hope you will follow along…you might find something inspiring!

You will find Part 1 here.
