“Two sounds of autumn are unmistakable…the hurrying rustle of crisp leaves blown along the street…by a gusty wind, and the gabble of a flock of migrating geese.” ~ Hal Borland
We can often hear the geese before we can see them, especially on a foggy misty morning. The patterns and sounds they make are fascinating. Flying with such ease, constantly creating new patterns, choreographing a beautiful dance in the sky.
Rhythms of the seasons...while the geese fly south for the winter....we tend to snuggle in with a fire, drink hot cider, start a sewing project, or read a good book.......WAIT!....I think that was in my dreams....really at this time of year...we are starting to stress about the upcoming holidays and make travel plans for Thanksgiving. Does this sound familiar to you? Time to Breath!!!
Last night we did just that....stopped to breath....and enjoyed a slow dinner with family and friends. Good food...great conversation...pausing for a few hours to celebrate the rhythm of the seasons. This is an new tradition that I hope to continue into the future. What are your traditions for Autumn?
