2017: The Year of Greenery

Pantone has spoken...

And it's Greenery for the win! To me, it's always a bit fun to see what color Pantone has declared worthy for a trend setting year, because at some point this color will trickle down and affect each and every one of us. Whether it's fashion, home decor, or entertainment, this trend will find you. So let's make the most of it!

As you already know, all of us here at Made on 23rd are passionate about making your home both unique and on trend, but we also know trends come and go! This post is dedicated to easy and temporary ways to keep your home right on trend. (So fret not, there are no suggestions for painting the dining room wall Margarita En Las Rocas.)

Vases and Jars

Vases and large jars are invariably the best (and easiest) way to temporarily style your home. They are effortless in the sense that they do not take a certification course or ten-step process to make stylish; most times it’s a matter of filling them to the brim, and voilà! Style!

I personally like to style my jars and vases with ‘love it and leave it’ types of items. What I mean by this is, I don’t want much—if any—upkeep. So even though fresh Granny Smiths are gorgeous and delicious, I won't be eating a vase full before they spoil. Solution? Fake it 'til ya make it!

Don't Forget To Make It Fun!

Paper straws are always such a fun and whimsical way to had character to a kitchen or bar cart. (Sure doesn't hurt that they're cheap too!) Throw a package into a mason jar and pump up the fun in your space.
