Did you know that a new color of blue was accidently discovered at Oregon State University a few years ago? Not only is it exciting to have a new color.....but.....it seems they discovered it also has properties that have an environmental benefit as well. How cool is that? Here's what they had to say about the new blue.....

"So, what’s so special about this blue?
This pigment is far more stable when exposed to heat or acidic conditions. Additionally, unlike Prussian blue or Cobalt blue pigments, it doesn’t release cyanide and is not carcinogenic – that's always a plus. Not only that, the highly reflective properties of the new pigment means it could be used in paints that could help keep buildings cool by reflecting infrared light."    Read more from IFL Science

Blue and white are classic decorating colors. They can be paired with just about any trend forward color and will never go out of style. You can mix patterns and textures together as well as a variety of themed accessories. When choosing textile patterns....look for an array of scale and density in the designs. Stripes, floral, plaid, and geo's will play nicely together if you choose an assortment of large, medium, and small scale patterns. You can also mix in Asian, cottage, and traditional style accessories to add personal style to a room. Below is a bit of blue and white eye candy for inspiration....
